Healthy Families

Juneau Youth Services’ Healthy Families Program provides comprehensive treatment and support for young people and their families. Services are available for children ages 3 through 21. The Healthy Families program involves a team approach with a clinician and a behavioral health associate. The clinician provides the treatment component, which consists of individual, group, and/or family therapies. The behavioral health associate provides behavioral teaching between counseling sessions. Often, the teaching is shared with parents and teachers, so the young person receives consistent feedback and learns to self-manage their behavior. The clinician, caregivers, other natural supports and BHAs work as a team to develop goals and a plan to achieve those goals. Services happen in a variety of settings, including but not limited to, schools, family homes and other community settings where the young person and their family feel comfortable.
